Good find! I noted that in the documents linked to that case are the court "conditions of probation". One of them, outside of the standard ones about reporting, employment, etc. was to submit a DNA sample. In felony cases (which this one was) the state takes a dna sample to have on file which could be used to test against a sample for unsolved crimes. I wonder if he was worried if submitting that sample as part of probation would tie him in to another crime?
