John and Amy Villines were swept away in their vehicle in an apparent flash flood Friday, Nov. 30, on Highland Street in Harrison where a normally dry creek bed became a river following heavier-than-normal rains.

Couple disappears; search continuing

Authorities believe the couple escaped the SUV, but were swept down a drainage ditch and into the lake. Articles of John Villines' clothing and his wallet have been found in the area.

Boone County Sheriff's Office Confirms Remains Found Are Missing Arkansas Man

Mike Moore, the Boone County Sheriff, confirmed in a press conference Tuesday that the male remains found Monday are John Villines, a man missing since the end of November.

The Sheriff says they will continue to search for Amy Villines, wife of John, who also went missing that day after their car was swept away by flood waters, weather permitting.
