No Longer Available
EDIT**Once I posted this it stated the above (no longer available) but for some reason if I do a google search:
Springdale AR Police Talk Missing Children Reports and click on 4029tv article, the video is available.

Springdale police report between January and April they investigated 78 missing children cases. Lt. Jeff Taylor with Springdale Police said a lot of time children return home in a few hours or days.

The video is in response to missing children in the Springdale area. This is merely my opinion and I’m just going to put it out there... I agree that a lot of these cases get resolved quickly and many are a result of kids wanting to go out to see friends, but I also believe there’s way too many missing in which this is not the case. The video is a great starting point in getting people aware of the volume of missing children but I believe additional awareness is much needed on the other unfortunate reasons they come up missing. Again, merely my opinion.

Quoted my post from another missing AR teen’s thread.

No, the "Springdale AR Police Talk Missing Children Reports" video is no longer available. It isn't available with your link, with google's link, or with newsbreak.com's link. I wonder why it was taken down so quickly.

I find that quite odd too.

This is interesting - the Springdale Police Department on Facebook just posted this:

Interesting is right. Is it me, or does anyone read this as I do, "Back to the 70s"? Where our LE now considers the rights to privacy, of a missing juvenile, as part of their "runaway" explanation? Maybe it's just me. And I certainly hope they don't expect the public to back off on following up on any cases that remain active. That does not compute IMVHO.

That was also my impression, that the SPD was using "privacy" as an excuse to not have an open inquiry about these teens.

I get the same impression from the Springdale PD post as I did with the video they shared on the subject a day ago. (It’s mysteriously gone for whatever reason but it entailed pretty much the same message as their fb post.) I’m from AR and I’m honestly a little ashamed of how this particular LE office addressed such an important issue concerned citizens have! I may be reading into it wrong, but I feel the response was more of a “save face” or “down play” response. And while I’m expressing my opinion on the matter, I don’t agree with the statement, “a big difference in a runaway and someone luring them away“. It may not be the same circumstance around the missing child, but it should both carry importance in urgency.
Again, merely my opinion on the matter and some may disagree, but there are too many children ( 17 yr olds included) going missing for people to make light of the situation. And a big thank you to WS members who help keep these MP cases from being forgotten. ❤️

ITA! And as I write this reply, there are currently 67 threads for missing people in AR. The first 40 are mostly young (<17) and the remainder are a mix, but mostly older. I realize every state is being victimized, but this has become unreal. IMVHO this all warrants a better response from LE.

The letter from SPD is in response to social media posts demanding a response regarding the perceived lack of action by the department in the recent cases. It helps dispel the fear that our children are being targeted and lured away, but I can see how people would feel they didn’t address other concerns. They haven’t published anything on social media about the individual cases, and there may be a reason, but I think people wanted them to acknowledge that. I wonder if they changed their mind about the 40/29 video because they’d be able to control the discussion better on the fb post. They are responding to comments.

It’s high time local media got into this. Some pointed questions to political leaders/state legislators about the sheer volume of missing teenagers in Arkansas. Every state has its problems with runaways, but things here just don’t look right. Pressure needs to go on the policymakers.

Part of the answer might lie with LE reporting processes that don’t properly capture or categorize the underlying nature of the disappearances or the final resolution of some of them. Part of it might lie in systems failures in state care for vulnerable kids (a lot of these teens seem to be in foster care or with some kind of state coordinated oversight). Part of it might just be unfortunate coincidence. But some of it appears sinister, and really requires some proper investigation and public recognition that there seems to be a problem here. When you’ve got DHS employees posting concerns publicly online (that are then reposted by local police departments) regarding possible widespread trafficking, it is time to grill the legislators.

The current AR Governor hails from the DEA, the DHS, was a former US Attorney and has four kids and six grandkids of his own - he rightly should (and likely would) care about this issue were it on his radar. He should be asked some questions.

[I never quite know in non-controversial cases like this what we are - or are not - allowed to link to on FB. So my apologies in advance if I’ve been an outlaw here...]

I read the comments on this “Missing People in America” FB page and the bottom comment appears to be from her mom 3 weeks ago (see translation - English is likely not her first language). The profile checks out to Arkansas (“Kanza”) but doesn’t give us much more to go on.

I wonder what could have happened to Mary. I hope she is safe and well. There is so little information available about her disappearance.
