Fulton County Sheriff Al Roork is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a 22 year old girl from Louisiana who went missing around 9 p.m. Monday night.
The girl’s name is Shasta and she is 5’2” tall, 100 pounds, with brown hair. She was last seen wearing black pants, a blue shirt and green tennis shoes . She is physically handicapped and walks with a pronounced limp. She is described as being mentally challenged and according to Sheriff Roork, looks to be 14 years old . She was camping with her family in a heavily wooded area at Many Islands that has a steep descent to Spring River when she went missing . Canine units from the North Central Unit in Calico Rock, helicopters from Baxter County, law enforcement and first responders are currently searching for Shasta. A woman from Louisiana has been reported missing on Many Islands Road in Fulton County.

Shasta appears to be 12 to 14 in age.
She was last seen wearing black stretch pants and a blue shirt with gray and green tennis shoes.
The Izard County Search and Rescue K-9 unit, Arkansas State Police, Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, Baxter County Sheriff’s Office with their helicopter and Arkansas Game and Fish, are on scene.

Search Ongoing For Missing 22 Year Old Woman Near Many Islands Road

Fulton County Sheriff Authorities confirmed that a 22 year old woman was reported missing around 9 pm Monday night. The family had been staying at a cabin in the area near Many Islands Road.

The missing 22 year old from Louisiana was only identified by her 1st name “Shasta” The woman is also physically handicapped , mentally impaired and walks with a noticeable limb. Shasta is also said to be 5’2” around 100 lbs, short brown hair last seen in black pants ,a blue shirt and green tennis shoes . She appears to be 12-14 years old.

The Baxter County Sheriff’s Office Helicopter is making low fly over flights in the area to try and locate her and the canine team from North Central Arkansas Prison in Calico Rock is also in the area to assist in the search.

The sheriffs department requests that if she is seen, please do not approach but instead contact the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department at 870-895-2601 or dial 911.

BOLO FOR MISSING PERSON IN FULTON COUNTY

The Fulton County, AR Sheriff’s Office is requesting assistance with locating a missing person (welfare concern) from their county. Shasta MCCANN W/F 22 (although she appears to be much younger) was last seen wearing a black and blue tank top and black legging style pants. She left her mother’s residence on foot in Fulton County last night at approximately 2300 hours and has not been seen nor heard from since. She does not have a cell phone in her possession and is likely to not have any identification on her person. Shasta is both mentally and physically challenged. She also walks with a limp as the result of the implantation of surgical rods in her back. Shasta is from Louisiana and has only arrived in Arkansas very recently. She will have little or no idea of the region.

Somebody picked her up, presumably. I'm glad she's safe and I hope she had fun. She was probably looking for a little adventure.
