Are lawyers allowed to interview jurors individually?

In today's current news thread by Angel Who Cares, I noticed this statement:

Her lawyers also want to issue a written questionnaires to potential jurors and allow attorneys to interview potential jurors individually rather than in a group.

Does the law even allow potential jurors to be interviewed individually? I have never served on a jury but those that have served have said all jurors were interviewed collectively in a group.

I'm hoping one of the legal eagles here can help answer this question!
