People around Monique and Spencer who suspected the ex must have known her troubled history with him, but we didn't. No news outlets mentioned it.

IMO, they are class acts and didn't make the media/youtube circuit, but kept behind the scenes, letting LE pull the evidence together for their friends. Admirable, imo.

And the police were quiet because they were on the trail and didn't need the public's input, imo.

I think regardless of who Monique married after him, her ex would have been resentful. He didn't try to win her back but revenge for the perceived insult when she left him.

I have known two couples who were married for very short times and there was very good reasons the marriages didn't last. I wish Monique had escaped completely.

There were a few leaks on SM about the first marriage early on, but those were maybe friends of the friends and the credibility of claims couldn't be verified. There were opposite claims as well.

Do doctors/surgeons look down on dentists as being "not really doctors"? I should think it's quite possible that is how MM felt/feels.

The ones who do obviously have bigger issues.

Dentists also have 4 years of pre-dentistry, which is basically the same as pre-med, and then 4 years of dental school. The first 2 years are classroom work, the second 2 years are hands on, and if they specialize, they get, at the very least, a master's degree followed by a fellowship. If you see, for instance, an orthodontist's office sign that says "DDS, MS", s/he got a master's degree in orthodontics. Yes, those exist. Ditto endodontics (root canal specialist), pediatric dentistry, and I'm sure there are others.

(I thank an endodontist for the fact that I still have a front tooth.)

Right, but what we don’t know is if the system was functional. Sometimes the signs are just to give the illusion of security ala a fake camera. Also possible they only armed it to keep tabs when they were out of town vs having it set 24/7 and disarming it every time you let the dog out.

True but I’d be a little surprised if it wasn’t. I personally don’t think I’ve ever heard of people having a sign in their yard to just fake having security. Not saying it can’t or doesn’t happen but not sure how common that is (maybe it is and I just don’t know). Forgetting to arm it every night I can see though.

I think it was said something about the dog on that wedding video, in a joking form. My opinion was the same, that Monique got Spencer and the dog in the marriage, but I don't remember how they formulated it.

Spencer mentions Larry the dog in his vows to Monique. His sister had the littermate to Larry - they got the dogs at the same time.

Why would the ex not take the opportunity to carry this out against Monique when Spencer was at work? Why both?

Another one I can sadly weigh in on because of my experiences with an abusive partner. Jealousy and possessiveness can cause a lot of anger to be directed to another guy who is with the girl the guy is possessive of, however irrational that may be.

I recall one time a long while after things ended with my abusive boyfriend, I went to a bar with my friend and (foolishly) extended an invitation to my ex-boyfriend. He ended up starting a fight with a guy who he felt was too close to me, and got that guy kicked out of the bar.

He was the one who dumped me, and this was many months after our breakup, if not longer. And, because I knew my ex well enough to know he would secretly watch how I behaved at the bar before coming over to us, I very intentionally did not interact with anyone but my friend. So really, all he saw was this guy just standing next to me, who may have looked in my direction at one point. And he started a fight with this guy for being too close to his “girlfriend” (a bad enough fight for the bouncer to get involved), and my ex got the bouncer to throw the guy out of the bar (never mind that my ex was actually the problem).

Now that this is a confirmed crime of passion, if the reporting of 3 total shots is accurate, does it strike anyone else as (making up a word) underkill? I’m not a gun expert but one shot to the chest doesn’t seem like guaranteed murder. Of course he could’ve waited around to make sure one shot did it.

This is a gruesome thought to me, but imo perhaps he was able to place a minimum number of shots due to his professional knowledge. Also, imo he would not have been as distressed or surprised by the aftermath as a layman might be, and could have examined them immediately afterward to make sure he had been successful.

Someone posted a screenshot of this on another website. I can’t cross-check with MM’s DoB but the only Michael McKee that comes up under any category using the search page here is this one, under vascular surgery.

If this is him, it doesn’t mean he wasn’t licensed – just that he hadn’t passed (possibly hadn’t taken) the board exams. The absence struck some people as unusual by the age of 39 but others felt it didn’t mean much.

Yep, they also said "80% of gunshots heard, are never reported". That suprised me to hear, but then when I thought about it - we've heard something that sounded like a shot over the years at our home (rural), but we didn't call it in either.
