OH - Spencer and Monique Tepe found shot to death at home 2 children unharmed, Columbus, 30 December 2025 *ex-husband arrested*

IMO, when it comes to 'injustice collectors,' there's really no rational reason for their actions since most of the hostility is built around perceived wrongs-- versus what most would deem real and/or actual wrongs. McKee may have been triggered by seeing a Hallmark holiday special, and angry that his ex-wife appeared to be living a Hallmark life during that fatal week.

For example, I just watched a YT series this week for the ten year anniversary of the 2015 DC Mansion Murders, by Mike King (Profiling Evil). In this case, Daron Wint, the convicted killer, had been terminated from the family's construction firm 10 years earlier.

While some suggested that Wint had been flagged for deportation in 2015, and retaliated against Savvas Savopoulos, Wint, a certified, union welder, certainly could have found employment elsewhere between 2005-2015, or the 10 years since he was terminated from American Iron Works! Totally irrational motive. JMO

This is why we have the very helpful metaphor "the perfect storm"... it is often the melding of any number of things that make the boat sink.

The details of what happened that night may end up being revealed as messier and more drawn out than a quick, undetected break-in leading to murder. (Unverified speculation at this stage.)

oh yes,... I have been wondering just how agonizing those last minutes must have been for Monique and Spencer....
We seem to know the moment of death ?? but have we had the moment of entry determined?
THAT will tell us a lot.... and how I hope it is not messier and painful for them. Or for us.

Someone mentioned using a blue light or black uv light to prehaps see numbers frequently pressed 🤔
I always run my fingers over all the buttons after I press in the code. Paranoid? Sure, but you never know.

Found his name on a clinic in Rockford (during googling) and based on what info is out there this guy did not care about getting caught...was just waiting for LE. I think a lot will come out about interactions in the last months between McKee and Monique. No one "let" this guy in middle of night. I hope after extradition that some facts about what happened will come out. For now we really don't know.
Based on what little we know now I will be surprised to learn he tried to cover up any of this. I'm expecting him to plead guilty. JMO

Very sad but not surprised it ended up being the ex-husband. I actually was born and raised in Rockford, IL and still have family there. Did not expect the killer to be caught there!

If it wasn't for the CCTV footage catching him walking towards the Tepee home in the wee hours, I would have posited that maybe he showed up at an earlier, more normal hour to show up at someone's house, and after talking, etc., things took a turn. However with the footage we have in the alley showing him walking TO their house in the early hours, it does appear he showed up and broke in during the night MOO.

based on how long his latent anger was simmering I expect him to plead guilty too. I am a bit surprised that he did not take his own life as he seems "done"!

I had also thought about looking a finger marks on the keypad. But even if it's the minimum 4 digit number, you have 24 possible arrangements of those numbers. Presumably these type of systems only allow x number of incorrect entries before they timeout for a while. But then I guess you could spend a couple of hours trying to get through the options whilst waiting through the timeouts.

i don't think he used the keypad...I think he had another entry point.

Whatever option he used, I am sure he had done dry runs before and knew exactly how to get in on the actual night. No way he was winging this on the night of the murders.

Sad to think that he used his hard earned 2 week break over the holiday season to plan and execute this murder and ruin so many lives, including his own. He could have taken a relaxing vacation somewhere and re-evaluated his life and planned for a fresh start in the new year instead. That could have been positive closure to his Monique obsession instead of this gruesome closure.

I am sticking with no alarm set, basement window.

I’ve been reading up on the lock system it looks like the Tepes’ had: Yale Assure 2.

Manual: link

There is, indeed, a user-adjustable max_attempt limit and timeout after that limit is reached. It defaults to 5 attempts with 60 seconds between.

The lock can also be connected to a HomeKit system and be auto-opened by Bluetooth or optional wifi module. It appears it will have kept a timestamped record of code entries.

Question for those with digital locks and alarm systems: do you use the same code for the alarm as for the door?

Someplace since we learned of the warrant for MM’s arrest (yesterday), I recall reading here that LE had video of him coming and going in the alley. Am I wrong? Wouldn’t the coming give an approximate time for when MM entered the house? Compare that arrival time to the “moment of death.”

ADDED: Sorry for my unoriginal idea — while I was writing, @MntnHiker beat me to it 😂

I think it’s human nature to be a little less vigilant in the daylight (i.e., not lock exit door for a 10-minute dog walk, back door left unlocked while chatting a minute with neighbor out front, etc.) Except for this evidence of him coming and going, I had wondered if sometime before the murders, MM had entered their home and was hiding in a basement closet or such place until he decided to strike. But obviously, if LE has him on video arriving the night of murders, this is not an answer as to how he got in the house without a break in.

Moo.

He is listed at clinics as recently as 2025 so not sure about all this "hasn't passed boards".
yes - He could not carry out surgery without passing.

Related to MM possibly having the door lock code: every time I use the outdoor keypad for our garage door opener, I am aware someone nearby could potentially note the pattern of my fingers as I press the numbers.

This may sound too paranoid but I’ve also wondered if MM could have strategically hidden a spy camera on a tree or utility pole where he could observe the homeowners pressing the keys and learn their code. MOO.

Then you'd know that a mugshot is a terrible basis on which to judge affect.
I think he has a smirk on his face in the mugshot, a very micro expression, but I see it.

Perhaps that was the date of the license?? Since the beginning, it's been reported that the couple was murdered weeks shy of their 5th wedding anniversary.

The Tepes married in 2021 and were one month away from celebrating their five year anniversary. Spencer's brother-in-law, Rob Misleh, shared the couple's wedding video with ABC 6 & Fox 28. They exchanged vows inside of their N. 4th St. home.
This was just coming out of Covid and all the restrictions that went with large gatherings, etc. I knew several couples who married in a private ceremony in 2020 and then held a larger ceremony/reception in 2021 with family and friends present. So essentially two dates - the actual marriage and the larger ceremony. Perhaps this was the case with the Tepes? (Speculation only, I have no idea whether this is actually the case.)

Interesting! This may have been what triggered his obsession with the Tepe's.

Look at how close his office location is to their residence 0 1768152717945.webp

People often buy these signs without the security system. Or use the system without paying for the police notification.
That’s my point though. If that was the case, he’d have no way of knowing that. Or he shouldn’t.
