Ashley was last seen in Cleveland, Ohio on July 9, 2007. She lived with her great-uncle at the time, and disappeared after an argument, taking all of her clothes with her. A month later, she called her mother and said she was okay and not to worry. In November, Ashley's step-grandmother saw her in a car with her hair cut short and dyed blonde. She disappeared before her step-grandmother could turn her car around.
Authorities believe that Ashley initially left of her own accord. But she hasn't been seen or heard from since 2007, and authorities believe she may be being held against her will. Two other teen girls have disappeared from the same area: Amanda Berry vanished in 2003, and Georgina DeJesus vanished in 2004. Police are investigating the possibility that the cases are related. One or more of the girls may have been forced into prostitution. All three cases remain unsolved.
