Crystal Beale, 49, was found deceased in the Brisbane River on 22 February 2025. Last seen the night before in West End. Police launched a murder investigation today and are asking the public for information.

Crystal Beale's body was found at Yeronga by a member of the public in the early hours of Saturday, February 22.

Following extensive investigations, including the results of a postmortem, police now believe the death of 49-year-old Crystal Beale is suspicious and investigations are continuing into the circumstances that led to her death.

Detective Acting Inspector Rod Watts said several lines of inquiry are currently being examined including collecting CCTV in the West End area on the night of Friday, February 21.

“We believe Crystal was near the Brisbane River at Orleigh Park, West End and on Ryan Street, West End late on Friday February 21.”

“Our investigation has centred around collecting CCTV from this area and we are now making an appeal to anyone who may have been in this area between 9.30pm on Friday February 21 and 1am the following morning and has seen Crystal or any suspicious behaviour to please come forward.”

There was an expired domestic violence order against her former partner but nothing current, he said.

He's not accused of any wrongdoing and has not been charged. No one has been taken into custody."

Queensland police have discovered belongings of Sunshine Coast woman Crystal Beale whose body was found in the Brisbane River in February.

They found one of her shoes in shrubbery at West End and other personal items nearby.

Police are appealing to the public to help them fill in the last eight hours of her life on February 21 and 22.
