This is so tragic and there is a complicated history with the man that is currently speaking voluntarily with the police. I can remember when he went to court after 15 year old Leanne Thompson was found dead. It's truly an unbelievable history he has:
  • Angela Silk found stabbed to death in a house at Upper Mount Gravatt on 6 September 2021
  • A man, Alex O'Sachy, who owns and lives at the address is voluntarily speaking with police
  • O'Sachy drove out of the police station this evening wearing a Hungry Jack's paper bag on his head with eye holes
  • O'Sachy was linked to the death of 15 year old Leanne Thompson, who died at the same house that Angela was found dead in last night on 7 September 2006, exactly 15 years ago today. Leanne was the daughter of a Police Sergeant and her mother is still seeking answers in relation to her daughter's death
  • O'Sachy has been linked to 4 deaths, but has never been charged with murder
  • 25 July 2005: 14 year old Andrew Anderson shot himself in the head while on the phone to his father. O'Sachy was friends with Andrew - the day before he was fatally shot, he was drinking and doing drugs at O'Sachy's home (reported in the inquest). O'Sachy was unhelpful and obstructive in withholding information during the inquest (he was in jail at the time). O'Sachy asserted that he lost his memory about Andrew and the events of the night prior to Andrew shooting himself. It's unknown if O'Sachy was present when Andrew discharged the gun or where Andrew got the ammunition
  • 7 September 2006: 15 year old Leanne Thompson was found dead at the same Upper Mount Gravatt home as where Angela Silk was found dead. She died as a result of hanging and the coroner deemed it was likely she had taken her own life. A coroner found that her death occurred while she was engaged in a high risk lifestyle with her older, drug-dealing boyfriend, O'Sachy. It was the 15 year anniversary of her death today
  • September 2009: O'Sachy was charged with aiding in Leanne's suicide. The jury couldn't reach a verdict and charges were dropped. O'Sachy served 6 months in jail for unlawful carnal knowledge of Leanne Thompson. He was given an extra 6 months for contempt of court after he refused to answer the coroner's questions about Leanne's death
  • 2009: O'Sachy pleaded guilty to stabbing and assaulting Lisa Palmos, his girlfriend - he was sentenced to 18 months jail (unlawful wounding and assault occasioning bodily harm), wholly suspended....
  • Lisa Palmos provided evidence to police that was included in the coronial inquest into the death of Leanne Thompson - Lisa claimed that O'Sachy told her about his conversation with Leanne before her hanging death. Lisa said that O'Sachy had told her he would tell Leanne to go and kill herself all the time. In late November 2008, he said to Lisa "I know I told Leanne to go and knock herself and that I wouldn't be far behind her but I didn't mean her to go and do anything"
  • Leanne's father, Police Sergeant Damian Rockett, said "I know Alex O'Sachy. I just feel sorry for the next woman that he associates with"
  • September 2011: O'Sachy's girlfriend Lauren Howarth died in a different home she shared with him after it was ruled that she took a drug overdose. Non-inquest findings state that O'Sachy was present at the time of her death. Lauren's mother asserted that O'Sachy was abusive towards Lauren and was responsible for her IV drug use and that he may have assisted in her death. The coroner found it was a death by overdose. The coroner found that O'Sachy fled the residence and called 000 from a nearby phone box, and that the relationship was violent and volatile. There were 3 reported instances of domestic violence between 15 March and 14 August 2011, and a court order was granted in relation to once of the instances
  • Various coroner reports have detailed his link to the individuals who died but he has never been charged in relation to any of the deaths
  • Angela Silk had recently had contact with the mother of Leanne Thompson on Facebook using an alias. Leanne's mother Di had posted in 2016 that she was looking into the circumstances of her daughter's death and wanted to hear from anyone that had information about O'Sachy. Angela reached out using the alias 'Angela Blow' about 10 weeks ago, as she was concerned about O'Sachy and Di had responded 'I have a lot of information. Feel free to message me.' Angela said she couldn't speak on the phone but did say "so please if you don't mind...yes please...I need to talk to you. At the moment I can text only. Please and thank you"

There is a real cautiousness in police comments, as would be expected given this man's history:

Queensland Police Service Detective Superintendent Tony Fleming said the address had been known to the police for several years.

Det Supt Fleming said a man – O’Sachy – was voluntarily assisting police, however he was free to go about his business today.

He said it was crucial police kept an open mind to determine the cause of the woman’s death.

“It’s really important that we remain objective,” he said.

“In all our investigations we can see, suspect we can even believe something. But if we can’t prove it then that’s where it goes.

“However the starting point at the moment is we have someone who died. It’s unexplained, it’s suspicious we need to know how that happened. And if someone is responsible for that we’re very keen to hold them to account and put them before a court … but it is purely on the facts of what we can prove.”

Det Supt Fleming said although police were suspicious of the circumstances in which the woman died, police had not yet completely ruled out the potential the woman died of self inflicted injuries.

‘There is history at that address’: Woman dies at Brisbane home

A woman has died in suspicious circumstances at a Brisbane home where in recent months police were called to respond to an argument.

Paramedics were called to a house on Wishart Road, Upper Mt Gravatt, just before 8pm on Monday following reports a 45-year-old woman was critically injured.

A 43-year-old man, Alex O’Sachy, who had been in an on-and-off relationship with the woman for about a year, made the call for paramedics, and on Tuesday morning he was voluntarily assisting police with their investigation.

An inquest into Leanne’s death heard that she had been punched, kicked, denigrated and urged to kill herself frequently, including on the day she died, by her drug-addicted lover, Mr O’Sachy, who evidence showed “preyed on vulnerable young women”.

In an online comment from 10 weeks ago on an old profile page dedicated to keeping Mr O’Sachy in jail, a woman called Angela Blow wrote she was dating him.

“I am dating Alex ... do I need to know more about this?” she wrote.

Others have since commented asking if she is safe.

Leanne Thompson death: 'go and kill yourself …'
Leanne Thompson death: 'go and kill yourself …'
(October 21, 2013)

Alexander George O'Sachy and Leanne had shared a house with his older brother, Daniel, and Daniel's then 10-year-old son. Over time, both Daniel and his son had rung police and the Queensland Department of Child Safety expressing concern for Leanne's well-being and urging that she be removed from O'Sachy's influence. After her death, Daniel and his son gave disturbing evidence of O'Sachy beating Leanne, taking her money and supplying her with drugs.
...
Daniel, 42, still lives at the same house at Wishart in Brisbane's south, owned by his father. He told Good Weekend that Alex O'Sachy was a chronic drug addict who refused treatment and seemed to have a morbid influence on those around him. He says their wealthy parents - divorced acrimoniously in 1994 and both remarried - have been providing his brother with lawyers, houses and cars. Daniel also says they tried to stop him giving evidence about what happened on the day Leanne Thompson died, but he wanted to show his own son he was "doing the right thing".
...
In 2009, he pleaded guilty to stabbing and assaulting one of them, Lisa Palmos, and received a suspended jail sentence; in 2011, Lauren Howarth - who had alleged that O'Sachy had threatened to cut off her finger and set her alight - was found dead of an apparent drug overdose in the house they shared.
...
Andrew (Anderson) had a troubled background and was under a Child Protection Order issued by Queensland's Department of Child Safety when he died on July 25, 2005, two days after shooting himself. He spent the night before the shooting at O'Sachy's Wishart house, drinking and using drugs. At his inquest in 2009, evidence was given that O'Sachy had supplied the drugs. Daniel tells me his brother "introduced [Andrew] to needles" by injecting him with amphetamines (speed) that night.
...

The trail of grief and misery involving Alex O'Sachy extends to a tiny flat in Brisbane's south, where Rosina Mason-Parker now lives alone. In 2011, a few months before her daughter Lauren Howarth was found dead of a suspected drug overdose in the house she shared with O'Sachy, Mason-Parker was asked by a TV reporter if she feared Lauren might die through associating with O'Sachy.

"My answer was, 'Yes, yes, yes!' " she says now, covering her face. "And then it happened." (The TV interview didn't go to air.)

"It was an absolute house of horrors," Mason-Parker says. "Police have all the texts now, but Lauren would send messages like, 'He strung me upside down ... he stripped me naked ... he tried to strangle me by grabbing my windpipe ... he put objects in my private parts ... he tried to cut off my finger and [threatened to] set me alight with meths.' It was sadomasochism, or something, but no matter how hard we tried, the police and I couldn't get her away from him because he was supplying her with the drugs she needed."

Sad end … Lauren Howarth before she met Alex O'Sachy.
...

Alex, diagnosed as schizophrenic and on some sort of pension, had been abusing and "controlling" drug-addicted girls and running amok for years. "One minute he's normal, then he'll go off at a tangent," says Daniel. "He'll pick up a shovel or something and try to attack you ... once, he shoved a loaded handgun in my face."
