Police in Queensland are trying to find a man they believe may have taken a baby girl from a home in Logan, south of Brisbane.

The 35-year-old visited a home on Hendon Court, Beronia Heights, just before 5pm on Sunday and left a short time later with the 17-month-old girl.

Police say the man is "transient" and is believed to be travelling around south-east Queensland in a dark red 90's model Ford sedan.

He is described as Caucasian in appearance, around 170cms tall and of a slim build.
Anyone with information is urged to call police.
