"Police are urgently searching for a 10-year-old autistic boy who disappeared on the way home from school.

Caleb Parsons did not return home from Gray Primary School near Darwin on Thursday.

Northern Territory police said there are fears for the safety of the boy, whose family believe he may still be in the Gray area.
