being 28 or 29 and having 7 kids is a warning sign in itself.

So the father, DH was 28. The victims were girl 5 mo, boy 2y and boy 6y. The four surviving children were boy 4y, boy 7y, girl 9y and boy 11y. It looks like since the second child was conceived, the mother was pretty much constantly pregnant or nursing for more than 9 years by now. Having pregnancies spaced close together is a know indicator of DV. In this case, we have 6 pregnancies back-to-back (and 7 children by the age of 28, including a teen pregnancy). I would say that this is a red flag of sorts.

Inadequately spaced pregnancies, defined as pregnancies fewer than 18 months apart, are linked to maternal, infant, and child morbidity and mortality, and adverse social, educational and economic outcomes in later life for women and children. Quantifying the relation between intimate partner violence (IPV) and women’s ability to space and time their pregnancies is an important part of understanding the burden of disease related to IPV.
