"Police have arrested four males,
aged 14, 16, 18 and 19,
over the alleged horrific sexual assault which lasted for 6 hours
of a 17-year-old girl on December 15, 2024.

The girl was allegedly approached at about 5.30pm at a shopping centre in Liverpool, 31km southwest of Sydney's CBD.

Only the 19-year-old, Adam Abdul-Hamid, can be named because of the ages of the accused.

'It beggars belief that in this day and age
men would think to act this way towards a girl,'
said Sex Crime Squad commander Detective Superintendent Jayne Doherty.

The alleged six-hour ordeal ended at about 11.30pm
when the males departed and left the girl in her car.

The teenager immediately contacted a friend
who took her to Liverpool Police Station to report the alleged attack.

The two younger males faced a children's court that same month,
while months of investigation led to the two older alleged culprits being arrested on Tuesday."

Young South West Sydney barber accused of gang rape

“A young barber has been identified as one of four teens charged over the alleged gang rape of a teenage girl.

News.com.au can reveal Adam Abdul-Hamid works at a Liverpool business and can be seen on videos promoting “mid skin-fades” and inviting people into the store.

The former Sadler Primary School student was arrested on Wednesday morning amid volatile scenes in his front yard - one of four accused of sexually assaulting the woman over a six-hour period in December.”

"Family members yelled
'what have you done to him',
while a woman screamed
'shut your mouth, don’t say a word'
as the 19-year-old was led out of the house and through the front yard.

Abdul-Hamid told police:
'Don’t touch me'.
(That's rich IMO)

He was taken to Liverpool Police Station where he was charged with five counts of aggravated sexual assault in company.
Police also applied for an apprehended violence order to protect the alleged victim.

A woman in the yard took pictures of assembled media
and followed one crew in their car for several kilometres."

"Abdul-Hamid was listed to appear for the first time at Liverpool Local Court on Wednesday morning following his arrest on Tuesday.

His solicitor Muhammad Tehsledar
told the court he did not require his client to appear via audio-visual link when the matter was heard.

Mr Tehseldar made no application for bail
but said he would be making a release order application for Abdul-Hamid in coming days.

Outside court,
Mr Tehseldar said Abdul-Hamid maintained his innocence and it would be inappropriate to make any further comment.

The case was adjourned to Campbelltown Local Court
on August 13."

Why the media is unable to picture or name three of the four teenage males accused of gang raping a girl in southwest Sydney

Nina Funnell - Journalist

Four teen boys - one aged just 14 - are alleged to have gang raped a teenage girl over six hours in Sydney. There’s two burning questions that everyone is asking.

So far, Adam Abdul-Hamid, the 19-year-old, is the only accused who has been named by the media.

And all four co-accused have yet to have their day in court and are entitled to the presumption of innocence.

The case, however, highlights an issue that many readers often find confounding: regardless of any eventual verdict, it is more likely than not we will never be able to report the other three boys’ names to you.

This is because in NSW, the Children (Criminal Proceedings) Act 1987 prohibits the publication or broadcasting of the names of people under 18 involved in criminal proceedings.

This is to protect their long-term reputation from the potential stigma associated with criminal charges, and to aid in their re-entry into society and rehabilitation in the event of a guilty verdict.

The result is that journalists are sometimes forced to leave out critical information which helps give context and can inform violence prevention research — including how the teen boys know each other.”

"In total,
the four face 64 sickening charges over the alleged attack,
including multiple counts of rape and sexual assault,
with the 16-year-old alone accused of raping her nine times during the ordeal.

Dramatic police footage showed Abdul-Hamid being arrested at his Heckenberg home
on Tuesday,
while his family protested and swore.

Detectives arrested the 17-year-old man,
now aged 18, at a Sadleir property,
also in Sydney's southwest, on the same day.

The two other alleged offenders,
a 16-year-old and a 15-year-old boy
(who was 14 at the time),
were arrested on December 20
and are also remanded in custody."

OMG!!!!!!! Application for bail!!!!!!!! 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

It was predicted he would do so last week. As far as I can work out, he has been charged with 5 counts of aggravated sexual assault.

“Facing Liverpool Local Court on Wednesday, Mr Abdul-Hamid did not apply for bail but his lawyer, Muhammad Tehseldar flagged a potential release application later this month.”

'Unacceptable risk': no bail for teen gang rape accused

Two men accused of gang raping a teenage girl for hours in a vehicle remained expressionless while denied bail for being deemed a danger to the community.

Adam Abdul-Hamid, 19, and an 18-year-old male who cannot be legally named are among four youths accused of the six-hour-long sexual assault of a 17-year-old girl at multiple Sydney locations in December 2024.

At Campbelltown Local Court, Magistrate Peter Thompson found the risk that Abdul-Hamid posed to the community if he was released from Silverwater prison could not be mitigated.

Magistrate Rosheehan O'Meagher at Parramatta Children's Court made similar findings against the 18-year-old.

Bail was rejected despite a raft of strict conditions proposed for each co-accused by their barrister Troy Edwards SC.

Abdul-Hamid's matter will return to court on August 13.

His three co-accused will have their cases briefly heard on August 11.”
