An update on Crawford’s appeal - whatever it means??? Paris Reeves is one of the Solicitors at his solicitors firm. I don’t know what this means though.

Thanks for finding this. I wish I could shed light on what it means but I’m afraid I’ve no idea. It reads to me like evidence submitted on his behalf? But that’s at a guess.
I hope someone else will come along with more knowledge of the justice system and its workings.

Does it mean that he's been convicted of something (and is appealing) and the something has been suppressed so it can't prejudice the jury regarding Frances? No ideas on why his solicitor is making an affidavit.

It's a Notice of Appeal.

Applied for on his behalf by his lawyer Paris Reeves.

Appealing what is the question.
He hasn't been tried and convicted yet.

What’s Involved in Section 222 Appeals?

Most criminal matters and many civil ones are first heard in the Magistrates Court of Queensland.

Where a person is unhappy with the decision they receive in the Magistrates Court, there is the possibility of appeal to the District Court.”

How is the Section 222 appeal conducted?

“An appeal will generally see the District Court rehear the evidence given in the Magistrates Court proceeding.

In some circumstances, the District Court may grant leave for a party to adduce fresh, additional or substituted evidence on the appeal under section 223 of the Justices Act.

The decision of the District Court is not final and the appellant may have a further right of appeal to the Court of Appeal.”

I'm interested in evidence they have from any of his "girlfriends"
Maybe they didn't even know he was married.

Appealing the fact that he’s allowed to freely walk around in the community, I’m sure 😉

But his own lawyer wouldn't do that, surely?

I am at a loss as to how he is allowed to be out on bail. It wouldn't happen on my watch (if I had a day)

I don't understand... What is he appealing, did we find out?

I looked up the lawyer mentioned - Paris Reeves - I wonder if she is his main lawyer? I'm not going to pretend to know how it works! Here are her areas of interest:

She looks very young - graduated at the end of 2022. With honours, no less. And took on a prestigious position as Associate to His Honour Judge Smith of the District Court in Brisbane.
