''
Throughout this year the increase in number of women allegedly killed by men known to them has been wide reaching – it serves as a critical reminder that violence against women affects all sections of the Australian community. Deaths have occurred across Australian states and territories, and spanned rural and metropolitan areas.

The knowledge we have so far about the alleged killings shows the range of different circumstances in which women come to be killed, most often by men known to them. Indeed, that is perhaps the one commonality in these cases – that when a woman is killed the alleged use of fatal violence is most likely by a man whom not only was known to her, but whom she once trusted as a former or current intimate partner.'

( In the light of all that is known, and it's not just a niche knowing, it's public knowledge, magistrates surely must be aware , if not deeply cognisant , even more so than the general public , of the propensity of any man to provoke fear in any woman, and if a woman is bringing a case to court, asking for an AVO, what the hell is a magistrate doing knocking it back? what was put in place , to protect Frances, instead?... if it was just 'marriage counselling' then this is a systemic failure of courts , in general. Courts, magistrates, clerks, courthouses, all this stuff costs taxpayers mega dollars, year in , year out, and is it being wisely spent??

I am at a loss to accept that a court was permitted to dismiss Frances's case.... if it was to 'save his career', then what cost is the community prepared to pay for one mans 'career'?? Not one more dollar, in my book. ).
So very well said. Unfortunately we have the same problem here in the US.

Just stopping in and see I have a lot of posts to catch up on.
Sadly, this is turning out the way I'd feared.

The organiser of the Go Fund Me appeal for Frances’ children has given an update on that page, to say that the funds are actually currently helping the children with their legal fees and their professional support in dealing with their grief of the loss of their mother. So far there has been $14,500.00 donated to the children.

Probably QPD froze Frances's assets way back and then did the same to his. Which goes to a little way in why he bunged the house up for BNB , his access to even his own accounts would have been scrutinised and restricted, I suppose... ready cash...

Agree it’s quite possible that accounts were frozen - imo is very unfortunate / unfair in how it increases the pain & victimisation of innocent dependants.

Agreed. Unnecessary pain, which is why the 🤬🤬🤬 is helpful.

Just a reminder to those of us who share bank accounts with someone else, in the event of their death please make sure you have enough cash to see you through the probate period. If you have a “child” credit card to a “parent” card then it might get frozen too. It’s a good idea to have a completely separate credit card.

I wonder if that’s what the AirBnb set-up was about—mortgage was due etc. Was money at the bottom of this horrendous act? Why do people forget that divorce is so much less self-destructive…

From the article it says he was living in a rental in South Brisbane since August 2023, and going back and forth between the rental and the Lockyer Valley home. Double life? Affairs? Trial separation?

Shock twist revealed for RAAF pilot accused of wife's lawnmower murder
Shock twist revealed for RAAF pilot accused of wife's lawnmower murder
From the above article:-

Now, Daily Mail Australia can reveal Crawford applied for a rental property in Brisbane's south in early August last year.”

This would fit in with the incident in July last year when Police were called to the property regarding an incident of domestic and family violence.

“Superintendent Marchesini said that a year earlier, in July 2023, officers had attended the Upper Lockyer property "in regards to a call for service" relating to domestic and family violence.”

Frances’ social media has been accessed, her only post on there was her comment from January stating something like “got married” or “just married” and a few people had laughed at it …. But that only post has now been removed in the past week.
IMO

“Now, Daily Mail Australia can reveal Crawford applied for a rental property in Brisbane's south in early August last year.

Five months later, in January this year, he again put in an application form for another rental property in south Brisbane.”

Applied, meaning he put in an application for a lease, right? Twice. But we don’t know the answer to these applications. He might have leased one, or withdrew the application, or the owners decided to go with someone else. It is unclear from the article, right?

(The dude is not OK. I’d venture to guess, either substances, or just himself. All his affairs look compulsive to me, like an addiction. But, he staged an accident, so, was in sound mind and understood what he was doing).

It seems like maybe he had stress building up and up until he could contain it no longer. But that's not an excuse for murder.

I did wonder in the beginning where articles said he was at the residence at the time.
That made me think that it might not be where he usually lives.

I do wonder though if either of the places he applied to rent were meant to be as income for him, Airbnb etc.

Or it could have been pre planning...

I wonder if he had problems with money. Perhaps an over-spender in some manner. Perhaps a poor money manager.
Just thinking back to the charges (that were dropped) in Adelaide. Alleged deception to get more money.

imo

Maybe he was into gambling and living the high life on his trips away from home.
