This is my first time posting a case, so I apologise if it is done incorrectly. This young man went missing in early October in my local area and has not been found. I am very upset to see that his case hadn’t been posted here as Samantha Murphy’s case here in Australia earlier this year got so much attention. So, I thought I would post it to see if some extra sleuthing could help. His family are desperate to find their “Jacky Bear”.

News reports and his missing persons group on Facebook (run by his Mum) say that he was camping with friends and wandered off at night. He had told his mum earlier that day that he had bumped his head so there are concerns about affects on his memory and cognitive function. His disappearance is very out of character and items of his clothing have been found in numerous locations that are quite spread out.

I'm in Victoria and this is the first I've heard of this case. I'd be interested to hear more about the potential head injury and why he left his mates. Or more of anything really, there's not much info out there.
I am on the Sunshine Coast which is not far from where this occurred abs we have not heard much about it either TBH. It’s interesting how some cases garner so much attention, and other’s don’t.

It is now feared Jack may have met with foul play, and that his body was dumped at a nearby beauty spot, Kinbombi Falls, 28km east of Murgon.

The friend said a woman had already handed over a recording of her son to police, describing what happened the night when Jack was last seen outside Murgon, 260km northwest of Brisbane.

The recording is believed to state that Jack and three men went to a local fishing and swimming hole called Ficks Crossing, where he mysteriously died. His remains were then apparently taken to Kinbombi Falls.

Is it just me, or does this read like there was potentially some sort of conflict that has resulted in Jack's death and those present have opted to hide his body rather than seek help?

I only suggest that as, if a friend or even just an acquaintance I am camping with drops dead, my instinct would be to call 000 or get to a place where help could be called. This theory suggests one or more may feel culpable in some way...
