Police seek information on death of toddler Lily Schettini

‘[Lily’s] is one of two deaths police have highlighted as part of Operation Persist, which was launched in 2015 to review cold case murders.

PHOTO Lily Schettini was found with head injuries at a Smithfield Plains home in 2010.

[...] 18-month-old Lily Schettini, [who] died from blunt head trauma seven years ago.

Police said the toddler was found unresponsive in the bedroom of a Smithfield Plains home on June 1, 2010, and her injuries were consistent with her being shaken, assaulted or falling.

A $1 million reward is [also] on offer for information about her death.

"We know that Lily was alive that morning — we believe she received head injuries between 8:00am and 1:00pm that day," Detective Senior Sergeant Mark McEachern said.‘
