The cockpit recorder holds the key to understanding what went wrong on Thursday when the waterbombing aircraft carrying Lieutenant Colonel Ian McBeth, first officer Lt Col Paul Clyde Hudson and flight engineer Rick DeMorgan Jr went down near Cooma in southern NSW.”
