Alexander McCall-Smith, author of the bestselling 'No1 Ladies' Detective Agency' (set in Botswana if I remember correctly) has won the prestigious Bollinger Everyman Woodhouse literary prize. Of a pig.

It's a very nice, spotted little fellow but it is just bizarre - and surely not a good idea to give pets as prizes?
