An Arizona man took a cross-country trip spanning some 3,600 miles to kidnap and repeatedly sexually assault a 14-year-old Georgia girl he met online, federal and state authorities allege.

Blane Christopher Patterson, 28, stands accused of one count each of knowingly transporting an individual who had not attained the age of 18 years in interstate commerce — with intent to engage in sexual activity for which any person can be charged with a criminal offense, and traveling in interstate commerce to engage in illicit sexual conduct with another person between the ages of 12 and 16, according to a federal criminal complaint obtained by Law&Crime.

He also stands accused of four counts of sexual conduct with a minor, one count of kidnapping, one count of custodial interference, and one count of luring a minor for sexual exploitation in Arizona, according to Maricopa County Criminal Court records reviewed by Law&Crime.

Wow. The thread on this girl was pulled when she was found safe.

It was an odd case as it played out there, but...wow.

Well this article didn't name her, there are definitely others out there linking her name with the suspect. As well as one that appears she may not be back in her home either, which is also a little curious.

I hope she gets the help she needs and that he stays locked up.

FBI and forensic investigators specializing in crimes involving the sexual exploitation of children interviewed the girl on Saturday and allegedly were told a 15-year-old relative introduced her to Patterson on the Discord platform a year ago.

The girl told investigators she told Patterson her true age and that he stated his as well as they used the instant messaging and videochat functions of Discord, court records show. The two allegedly exposed themselves to each other on video.

The girl identified by the pseudonym of Jane Doe told investigators she left home during a “sleepover” at a friend’s house and left a note to her family stating she planned to commit suicide. The girl said Patterson picked her up in Georgia and touched her on at least one occasion at a rest stop along the way; she said they had sex “four to five times” since arriving in Arizona, court records show.
