The La Paz County Sheriff’s Office in Arizona posted a missing person alert, saying a man with Chris called 911 as they were allegedly lost in the desert, looking for water. The caller said that Chris walked off alone, which is the detail that immediately raised questions for Chris’ family.

His brother, Josh, who is a St. Louis area paramedic, tells FOX 2 that Chris has trouble walking, especially long distances, due to an injury he suffered long ago.

“He has what they call drop foot,” Josh said. “He kind of drags his foot along with him as he walks… for them to say he’s walking miles into the desert, mind you, at this time it was 100+ degrees even at night out there, the whole story doesn’t make sense to any of us.”

UGH - last name s/b Sins, not Sims. Alerting for correction to thread title.

A FB profile (not a group or page) shared by his sister seems to be run by his mom: Search for Chris Sins | Bouse AZ

The Fox article hints at it, but the FB profile and the fundraising page (shared in the Fox article) more directly blame the man that Chris was last seen with. The family is not happy with local LE’s efforts so far.

In 2023, paperwork was filed with the court for Interstate Compact - Probation (Case No. S-1500-CR-202300033). Note: The Interstate Compact of the Supervision of Parolees and Probationers (ICAOS) is a nationwide agreement that allows for the transfer of probation and parole supervision between states. In April of this year Chris was charged with Failure to Appear (Case No. J-1506-CT-2024001207) and the address he provided to the court was formally noted as "bad" on August 16th, 2024. However the charges were minor vehicular violation(s). Unless driving was a restriction of any probation (probation status unknown), I can't see why he would have gone missing for this, in my opinion. I can see why the family is worried as to the circumstances of his disappearance. Public Access Case Lookup

This article has a little bit more information. Missing Illinois man in Arizona sparks suspicions from family

I live locally and this last week Chris’s family once again returned to Bouse Arizona. Searching the desert, mine shafts tunnels etc.

A 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 page run by Chris's sister and also the FB search page mentioned by previous poster here both say Chris was found deceased.

It is with profound sadness, yet also a sense of relief, that we announce the identification of the remains found in the Sonoran Desert on November 9th as those of Christopher W. Sins. While we mourn the loss of Chris and the absence of his presence in our lives, we find solace in the knowledge that we can finally honor him with a proper farewell. Due to the condition of the remains, a cause of death could not be determined. Chris's remains will be returned to Illinois, and a funeral service will be held in his memory at a later date. We will ensure that the details of the service are communicated as soon as they are finalized. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered their prayers and support during this incredibly challenging time.

Officials in Arizona confirmed to FOX 2 that remains recently found in the Sonoran Desert are those of a St. Louis area man who’s been missing since this summer.

A visiting dove hunter found a shoe, according to Ponce. The hunter and his friends, recalling reports of a missing man, searched the surrounding area and found Sins’ remains.

“He was underneath a tree, somewhat in a seated position as much as we can tell,” the sheriff said.

I pray for his mom. I’m sure she’s not perfect (NEITHER AM I). I cannot imagine the pain of this as a finale after all else her son went through, both of his own volition and not. I just extend to her my warmest thoughts and wishes for a better future.
