Daniel Gerard Chervenka, Jr.

Case Classification: Endangered Missing
Missing Since: May 29, 1999
Location Last Seen: Phoenix, Maricopa County, Arizona
Description:
Chervenka was last heard from when he telephoned several people from his residence in west Phoenix, Arizona on May 28th, 1999. He has never been heard from since.
On May 29th, Chervenka's wallet was found on a hiking trail or dirt road leading into the Four Peaks Wilderness area of Tonto National Forest, about an hour north of Phoenix. His vehicle and keys were later located abandoned on Cline Trailhead on June 9th, but he was nowhere to be found. Although Chervenka was a daytime hiker, he did not have his hiking gear with him.
At the time of his disappearance, Chervenka was suffering from bipolar disorder and was not taking his medication. Shortly before he went missing, his family attempted to have him admitted into a hospital for treatment after a manic episode, but he refused assistance.
Despite extensive searches conducted by Maricopa Sheriff Deputies, Chervenka was never located. Few details are available regarding his disappearance and his whereabouts remain unknown.
