Distinctive Characteristics: Probably wore dentures and suffered from spinal arthritis.

Circumstances of Recovery: Found remains (in a wooded area near Kowboy Kountry Club) with a GSW to the head and rusted revolver next to the remains. CCSO deputy Woolbright assumes suicide. A section of newspaper and clothing were also associated and based on the condition of the remains, the rusted revolver, newspaper and clothing style, it was thought that the death occurred in the 1950s.

I wish I knew when in 1960 the skull was found. I couldn’t find anything about it’s discovery. There are only a couple of potential matches. For some reason William stands out to me and he somewhat resembles the sketch. The others not so much.

This article was printed in April 1961 after the skull was recovered but says it was originally discovered by two teen boys in October 1960.

I tried to find out exactly where Kowboy Kountry Club was but I couldn't find an exact location, but it was located on Schultz Pass Road off of Highway 180. If I'm guessing it was about here. Kowboy Country Club was destroyed by fire on December 23, 1981.

From what I can gather from the article the skull was found either 1961/1962 (articles give conflicting dates). When these remains were found in 1980 it was headless, the man who found the skull in 61/62 called in to the police and said that he found the skull in the same vicinity. The skull was connected back to this case then located at the Museum of Northern Arizona & the reconstruction was made from the skull from 61/62. It seems that LE operated under the thought that the skull was part of the remains from 1980's, I'm not sure if any DNA testing was done to confirm that considering the time period. However, the bullet wound in the skull from 61/62 matches the caliber of gun found with the remains from 1980 so I assume they do match up.

Hopefully that makes a bit more sense?

Thanks, now it's clear, I've already taken a look at the disappearances in Arizona but I haven't found compatible profiles, I'll check other states as soon as I have time.
