Mohave County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue is actively searching for three missing people last known to be in the Hualapai Mountains. The trio were on their way in a black 2002 Suzuki Grand Vitra as of 10 a.m. Saturday morning. The missing people are James Keel, 66, Nancy Walker, 62, and Ebert Johnson, 61.

What does “recreating” mean?

From article: "Around 10am Saturday (11/17) morning, they were traveling to the Hualapai Mountain Resort and from there were to be recreating on trails in a Black 2002 Suzuki Grand Vitara."

1) Do they know if they actually made it to the resort? If yes, does the resort have video to possibly show the route of departure? If no, have they obtained any video from Route 40 in Kingman? That's where they most likely jumped onto Hualapai Mountain Road. Unless they were doing the recreating beforehand.

2) Do we know if this was a common endeavor? If yes, were they all in good health? No recent health scares? If no, do we know if family/friends are aware of why this would be scheduled?

The weather does not appear to be a factor. It would have been a little chilly at ten in the morning, but I do not see any precipitation on the record for 11/17:

Kingman, AZ
Sat 11/17
Actual Temp
67° /35°
Hist. Avg.
62°/38°

I hope all are safe!

UPDATE: MISSING PERSONS - HUALAPAI MOUNTAINS

On Tuesday (11/20) at approximately 1:30 PM, search teams located the vehicle described in a missing persons investigation that began on Sunday (11/18) for three missing subjects. The three missing subjects, identified as James Keel (66-year-old male), Nancy Walker (62-year-old female), and Ebert Johnson (61-year-old male), were located deceased with the vehicle. It is suspected at this time that the driver lost control of the vehicle and left the roadway, in an area of steep and rugged terrain, landing several hundred feet down into a canyon. No foul play is suspected at this time. This investigation is ongoing. The family has extended their thank you's to all the search teams involved and is requesting privacy at this time.
