8-year-old autistic boy missing in Bullhead City

Jeremy Duncan was last seen at approximately 8 am at 584 Silver Lane. His birthdate is 07/07/2010. He is a white male, 4’ tall, 63 lbs., with brown eyes and long brown curly hair. He was last seen wearing neon yellow shorts, no shirt and no shoes. He is autistic – non-verbal.

Volunteers will gather tomorrow at 7 a.m. at the BHC Chamber of Commerce as the search resumes for missing 8 year old Jeremy Duncan. BHCPD Police Chief Williamson said to keep an eye out and look everywhere in and around your home for Jeremy. We will continue to update.

In the youtube video, the Chief says they have already covered a huge part of the area with over 300 volunteers. I sure hope they find this little guy.

He is probably just really small for his age. I work with some kids who are nine and they look like they are sixteen and some who are sixteen that look like they are nine. The fact he is non-verbal is going to be an issue for him to try to tell people his situation. Not not to mention when he does put on a shirt and shoes from where ever he may get them people looking for him might not stop to consider he may have gotten dressed somehow. They are looking for a little boy with no shirt.

Till I joined this website I never imagined so many people go missing every day like this. Unless it is local to my area I am not going to here about it and it never makes the world new's unless it is someone famous or their family. On the internet you are not really going to see it unless you are trying to find it. I think this is a really helpful website, I never even heard of it, that I remember till the day before I actually joined it. I spend a lot of time on the internet researching missing people and aircraft, I am surprised I never ran into this website before now. I just wished that when these threads on missing people are posted on here that it would jump to the front page of the search engines a lot faster that what it does, so people that are possibly involved in the search might see an idea or something on here that they may not have thought about.

Right now (4 a.m.) it is 78 degrees. So, not freezing temps. Bullhead City is between Lake Havasu and Henderson, NV. There is a river and wooded areas near the city according to Googlmaps.

Would it be not so unexpected for a kid to be wandering around with no shoes and shirt in AZ at this time of year?

It's a reasonably built up area with roads that have to be crossed to get to the river. At 8 am I'd think there would be people out and about who might have seen him. Could he be hiding somewhere a bit closer to his house?

Volunteers are gathering at the City Council Chambers this morning to help search for Jeremy Duncan.

Update From Mohave Daily News:
Volunteers and police officers combed Bullhead City neighborhoods Saturday in an effort to find a nonverbal autistic 8-year-old boy who remains missing.

“We’re trying to do everything in our power to find Jeremy (Duncan) well and get him home safe,” said Bullhead City Police Chief Brian Williamson.

He asked residents Saturday night to look around their properties last night and this morning to see if Jeremy might be hiding in the yard, in a shed, boat or car. Williamson stressed that the search should be conducted without a lot of noise. Anyone who does find Jeremy shouldn’t approach him because he’s likely to run away.

Jeremy is described as white, standing 4 feet tall, weighing 63 pounds with brown eyes and curly brown hair. Police said he was last seen in the 2000 block of White Sands Drive with no shirt or shoes. Anyone with information is asked to call 928-763-1999.

So many autistic people love the feeling of water. But because of their propensity for spatial awareness disorders, it is very difficult to teach them to survive unsupervised, especially when they are little.

I hope and pray this little guy didn't go that way and that he is found soon, none the worse for the wear.

Jeremy went missing 8 am Saturday morning. Searches went on all day and night and are continuing this morning. Asking for more volunteers to help search. Note the different last seen address in this article as compared to 584 Silver Lane in the earlier link.

Police said he was last seen in the 2000 block of White Sands Drive with no shirt or shoes.
Area emergency responders continued the search overnight after volunteers were sent home for the night to rest. Mohave County Sheriff’s Office, MCSO Search and Rescue, Bullhead City Fire Department, Yucca Fire Department, Arizona Department of Public Safety and the FBI were among those agencies assisting with the search.

Around 8 a.m. Sunday, Bullhead City officials said a body of a child matching the description of Jeremy Duncan was located in the Colorado River, just south of Rotary Park.
