Jesse was last seen leaving his home in Phoenix on Sept. 14, 2001. He was 14 years old. Jesse had planned to attend a party in the local area, but when he failed to return home, family members reported him missing.

Jesse is described as Hispanic with brown hair and brown eyes. At the time of his disappearance, he had a piercing in the lower lobe of his left ear and a piercing in the cartilage of his upper left ear. He also had a “J” tattooed on his hand between his thumb and index finger. Jesse has a black mole in the corner of his right eye.

Jesse may go by the nickname “Lil’ Droopy”.

I can't imagine the pain and suffering a loved one feels when their child is missing. My heart goes out to them.

14 years old is so very young.

May Jesse's family find answers as to what happened to their son.

This case strikes me as odd. Being only 14 years old is very young. It's very sad there are limited information to this case itself. I have some questions that should've been answered a long time ago.

1. Did he actually even make it to the party?
2. If he did, was he to meet anyone? If so, who?
3. What happened to Jesse surrounding the time he left home to go to the party and afterward?

This is only speculation, but it's what I believe could've happened; I believe within hours of leaving his home for the party something happened to Jesse. It doesn't actually say...

1. Where the Party was being held
2. How many people were attending
3. Who was going with Jesse to the party
5. And what setting it was in

He left alone that night and was supposed to meet a friend so that they could both walk to the party together, but Jesse never met with his friend that night, so could it be something happened along the way?
Someone knows something, how can a 14 year old child disappear for this many years? It's not like you disappear off the face of planet earth. He is still out there somewhere and wherever he is I hope he is happy and safe. I'm not thonking the worst Because it's not we really don't know for sure what actually happened to him on the night. To me, its possible that there may have been some harm that came afterwards of him going missing. Something or someone caused him to go missing, but I'm not saying it's not entirely true.

The vicinity he was last seen in; 55th avenue and Indian school road. I have to wonder how far was the party and how much of the way Jesse had planned on walking that night. But, I honestly believe he never left of his own accord during the nighttime hours when he was walking to a party and when he had fully intended on returning home that night.

Please come home soon Jesse you will always be in my prayers and that I hope that your family will have answers and justice will be served.

Sister of missing Phoenix teen wants answers 19 years later | 12news.com

PHOENIX — It's been nearly two decades since a Valley teen disappeared while walking to a party in a Phoenix neighborhood. He vanished without a trace.

“It is very raw, the feelings of him not being around," Veronica Alvarado, the sister of Jesse Florez, said.

She spoke with 12 News, heartbroken about the disappearance of her 14-year-old brother.

"It's a struggle,” she said. “It's indescribable…the way we have to go through holidays without him."

Alvarado wants to know what happened to her little brother, who went missing after leaving for a party on the evening of Sept. 14, 2001.

"He turned around and said, 'I love you mom, I'll see you in a little while,'" said Alvarado.

But Florez never made it home. A search has been underway ever since.

An age progression image shows what he could look like today, at 33 years old.

"I know he would be a successful young man... in everything he did, he was a leader, he was independent, he was so charismatic, and we miss him dearly," she said.

Alvarado hopes, by sharing the pain her family is still going through, new leads will come in and that there will be a renewed effort to track him down.

"We hope that wherever you lie your head, that you are being safe," she said. “One day our prayers will be answered, whether it be here on earth or in heaven, we definitely will get closure at some point in our lives."

If you have any information about Jesse's disappearance, call the Phoenix Police Department at 602-262-6151 or The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children at 1-800-THE-LOST.

Family, police search for answers 20 years after teen Jesse Florez vanished

"An Arizona mom is desperate to find out what happened to her 14-year-old son, who disappeared 20 years ago. Police believe something suspicious happened when Jesse Florez vanished while walking to a birthday party, and after two decades of searching, the case is ice cold.

Angie Alvarado's 14-year-old would now be a 34-year-old man, something she can't even fathom. Jesse went missing just three days after the 9/11 terror attacks, so his case didn't get attention for some time. The teen was supposed to be going to a birthday party on Sept. 14, 2001. Nobody knows if he ever made it. "Every year that goes by, and without anything, I think that's when I start to think about he could be gone," said Alvarado.

The world already felt heavy. But Jesse was a bright light. "He was very bright. Soft-spoken, sensitive. Very kind," she said.

Jesse was just starting high school. They lived in Maryvale near 51st Avenue and Indian School Road. It was 6 p.m. and Jesse was going to walk to a friend's house near Encanto, about a mile away..."

The teen was supposed to be going to a birthday party on Sept. 14, 2001. Nobody knows if he ever made it.

Did no one know where the party was located or who was going to be there, in order to determine if he ever even made it? I think likely he made it but something happened at the party or afterwards by someone who was there.

My heart goes out to his family. I hope there will be a break in his case.
