There should be a photo somewhere, I’d think.

There's no Doe Network page for him! Thanks for posting @MadMcGoo. I'm curious why there's no photo or sketch available if it sounds like he was recognizable.
If he has been reported missing it would definitely, I assume, have to be on Interpol since it sounds like he was European...then again he could have immigrated to the US (or even Mexico or Canada) long before.

Possible wedding ring(s). I usually associate Speedos with Europeans, unless this was an early 80s thing?

And what's with the age range!?

I would understand if it was a skeleton, but it sounds like he'd just been found and was recognizable! So confusing!

Is there any sense in contacting the contact/PD to see if more information or any images are available?

There’s no ‘Bannhofter St’ in Zurich. Perhaps a transliteration of Bahnhofstrasse?

Go for it! Couldn’t hurt.

Bumping case up.
It's too bad PMI was only 1 day, yet they couldn't estimate his age at all.

I am going to speculate he was visiting from Europe but maybe not Switzerland. He used a generic German last name but either he misspelled Bahnhofstr. for some reason, or he said it to a clerk who spelled it like it sounds. JMO.

When I have time, I am going to see if I can find any potential matches....

It sounds like he, or the clerk, was trying to put "street" in English, rather than German "strasse." Maybe the clerk wanted the closest representation for some reason. Or the address meant something and the Doe wanted to be sure if was listed as street so it could be followed up on by an American. If that's the case, I wonder if the last name Schneider, pronounced Shneeder, is of any significance like the Lyle Stevik case. Even in '83 it would have been possible to see if were any leads of Schneiders in Zurich.
They probably list the wedding ring as "possible" since it could be a tan line on his right ring finger. I'm about 50/50 in trying to get into Namus...does it list whether they have DNA for him?

He is in NamUs:

Could someone please check for exclusions?

I found an American (from Maine) who went missing in April '83, had long curly brown hair, and was threatening self-harm when he disappeared. However he was said to have blue eyes, a lot of men had longer hair in the '80s, and I don't think circumstances match enough. So not going to put his name into the thread, but he's NamUs MP12654.

I'll look at Interpol Yellow Notices...
