Thanks for this. I expect that his mental health and its possible deterioration as a result of interrupted or discontinued treatment is going to be an important element to this case.

Echoes of other stories we've seen here recently for sure.
Emphasis mine.
Agreed.
This is IMO --- if the murderer, T.B., gets off or a reduced sentence due to his mental issues, I think he might kill again.
To gun down two innocent young people who you don't know and have not harmed you-- about as low as it can get, and imo he needs to be locked away for the remainder of his life.
He can get help and treatment whilst locked up.

Wednesday, October 8th:
*Status Conference Hearing (@ 8:30am AZT} – Pandora Sapphire Lynn Kjolsrud (18) & Evan Clark (17) found deceased with gunshot wounds in campsite area near Mount Ord [off State Route 87, between Mesa & Payson] to Camelback Mountain in the Tonto National Forest on May 27, 2025; believed to have died on Monday, May 26, 2025. *Thomas Henry Brown (31) arrested & charged (10/2/25) with 2 counts of first degree premeditated murder. Bond set (on 10/2/25) @ $2M CASH Only. Maricopa County
Case info: Two students of Arcadia High School in Phoenix were found shot to death in a remote area. The two had reportedly gone camping over the holiday weekend & didn’t return home. Officials are investigating a possible homicide after two teenagers were found dead in an isolated area of Arizona, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office. Early Tuesday morning 5/27/25, deputies responded to a call for service in the campsite area of Mount Ord [off State Route 87, between Mesa & Payson. Mount Ord is located in the Tonto National Forest]. a remote hiking & camping area Once on the scene, officials located "two deceased individuals," the sheriff's office said in a statement. The victims were identified as 18-year-old Pandora Kjolsrud & 17-year-old as Evan Clark. The Maricopa County Medical Examiner lists the deaths as “homicides.” On Friday, 5/30/25, MCSO said the teens had died from gunshot wounds. They add that their deaths are being treated as suspicious. The two teens were students at Arcadia High School in Phoenix. Also see post #144, page 8 for info on how Brown’s DNA was found.
6/2/25 Update: The pair are thought to have died last Monday, May 26, 2025 & Maricopa County Medical Examiner's Office reportedly listed both deaths as homicides. Sergeant Joaquin Enriquez, of Maricopa County Sheriff's Office (MCSO), has confirmed that police are investigating the "suspicious" deaths. The teenagers had set off for a Memorial Day weekend camping trip to Camelback Mountain, but never came home.
10/2/25 Update: The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) announced the arrest [on 5/27/25] of Thomas Brown, 31 in connection with the May deaths of 18-year-old Pandora Kjolsrud & 17-year-old Evan Clark, two Arcadia High School students found shot in the Tonto National Forest. MCSO has released limited details regarding the specific charges against Brown, but Sheriff Jerry Sheridan is scheduled to hold a press conference on Friday, Oct. 3, at 10 a.m. to provide an update on the case. The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office website says he's accused of first-degree premeditated murder.
10/2/25 Update: During an initial appearance late Thursday night, a Maricopa County judge set a $2 million cash-only bond for Brown. He faces two counts of murder in the first degree. A judge found probable cause in the case. According to court paperwork, Brown's DNA was allegedly found inside the victim's vehicle & in gloves found at the crime scene. Brown is set to have a hearing on 10/8/25.
10/7/25 Update: Investigators are being tight-lipped about the kind of weapon involved & whether it was a 3-d printed firearm, the same kind the suspect made & sold himself. “We’re looking into everything,” said Capt. David Lee with MCSO’s major crimes division. It’s been months since Pandora & Evan were found shot to death on Mount Ord, but when it comes to evidence investigators aren’t saying what kind of weapon was used. “All I can say is that they were both shot multiple times,” explained Lee. Online, Brown advertised 3D-printed figurines & gun accessories & even posted photos of guns he designed & printed. “As far as the weapon, I can’t speak to whether or not that is what was used,” Lee stated. He admitted MCSO investigators are aware Brown had a background in 3D-printed firearms, something that he says can complicate the forensic process. According to firearms experts a 3D-printed gun doesn’t have a serial number & the plastic components can melt or deform after firing. That makes it difficult, if not nearly impossible, to match a bullet to a specific weapon.
10/6/25 Docket updates: Initial Appearance Document[IA Packet]. Release Order/Order regarding counsel. Release questionnaire. Notice: sealed document: Rule 2.3 victim identifier information form. Order to seal documents. Motion to file victim identifier under seal. Release questionnaire. Court information sheet. Direct complaint filed.
