Oh, someone online knows this doe's sister (please note I don't know for sure, I can't confirm) and she didn't want to cooperate in the case at all. So there goes our only lead to getting her identified.
Oh damn, that really sucks. That could have really helped in this case.

yeah. Again, i have no clue if this is accurate or not. this was (and don't get upset) from a tiktok comment, and the user said she allegedly knew this girls sister but she didn't want to participate in the case. It does seem a little odd but if she was then I guess the only shot of her being identified is just chucked out the window.

when i get the time I'll definitely submit a potential match panel. There doesn't seem to be a rule out.
This actually wouldn't make alot of sense for her to be Amelia. Areli is likely undocumented, considering she was coming from a city near the Guatemalan border to near the united states border. train ticket and everything.

According to Humane borders site, cause of death is probable hyperthermia and postmortem interval is around 1 days. Her case number is: 09-01412

Slight correction: the PMI is listed as greater than 1 day, which lines up with the "several weeks" estimate given by NCMEC.

Judging by the clouding of the corneas, yeah she would've been dead for at least a few weeks, probably around two to three. if it were a day i do think they'd still retain their natural color and have some clouding.

her discovery place was pretty far from I-19. Not sure if from this distance you can see a road or something like that but I'd assume you would be and then you'd have to hitch-hike or stall a cab.
