Here is an article written about Raegan being gone for a year:

Kirra [Drury], 23, and her friend Raegan Heitzig, 26, both Ventura residents, died in a boating accident on the Arizona/California border of the Colorado River last year over Labor Day Weekend. Kirra was a well-known bartender who worked at The Tavern while Heitzig worked at Social Tap, both in Ventura.

A celebration of life for Heitzig will be held on Friday, Sept. 20, in Visalia, her hometown. Heitzig’s body has not been recovered from the river since the accident.

More about Kirra and Raegan at the link.

Here is an article from January 9, 2019 that explains how the accident occurred:

Four months later, search continues for boating accident victim

Mohave County Sheriff Doug Schuster said that a boat carrying 10 people and another vessel with six people on board collided head-on Sept. 1, 2018, on the river that borders California and Arizona.

Some witnesses said neither boat had lights on at the time of the collision. None of the boaters wore life jackets, which aren't required but are recommended by authorities, Schuster said.

Both boats sank and passing boaters pulled victims from the water, he said.

Law enforcement agencies from San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department and surrounding agencies rushed to the scene and helped with search operations.

It is a long, informative article that mentions the other victims, where they were from, continued searching, fundraising, etc.

This is so sad. Thank you for find that article @TatianaBarbie

When I posted Raegan's thread last night I was hoping that perhaps there may be some alternate explanation for the boating accident story (like in some cases there are not any witnesses and they only find an empty boat they assume the missing person was in). But with so many witnesses and other victims I think there is no doubt she perished in the river and simply has not been found. How tragic and depressing this must be for her family. I hope they find her remains soon so that her family can have some closure/sense of resolution. MOO.

Rest in peace, Raegan.
