Found Deceased AZ - Ron Bethsold, 44, Phoenix, 18 July 2020

I couldn't find a thread for Ron so I went ahead and started one. https://www.fox10phoenix.com/news/family-asking-for-help-after-44-year-old-man-went-missing Information seems to be really hard to come by about this one for some reason. Ron was apparently on a hike at Coyote Basin, near North Phoenix, when his phone seems to have died and that was the last anyone heard from him. He was an experienced hiker and there was no reason to think he should have come to harm unless perhaps he had a medical incident or something like that. Really strange one.

I believe this is where he was visiting the "Indian Ruin" when he texted his Mom. It's very close to populated areas but it's also closed to the public at this time so he likely would have been all alone there. July 24 @ 4:07 post shows "photos Ron took while hiking Saturday morning". In comments people have asked whether they can determine his GPS coordinates from the info stored at the time the pics were taken. The iphone data shows the pics were taken around 6am. The last text, which was supposedly sent by him, was sent at 8:53am. Comments are questioning whether he usually sent a text to his mom when he was out hiking.

Hello all. First of all, our family would like to extend a warm thank you to everybody. There are not enough words to express our gratitude. This community is amazing.
Ron’s body was found Saturday morning by a hiker. This is extremely sad news for our family however it does bring us closure and peace knowing we can bring him home. He was found by the area he had been hiking. There is no evidence of violence.
At this time we would greatly appreciate privacy as we go through this time. Thank you for your understanding.
