Does she camp on her own often? What exactly do they mean be saying she refused? Was she a 25 year old having a tantrum?

Flat expansive scrubby dessert. She has been missing since January. Looks she took nothing with her to go camping. This is a recovery not a search and rescue. She likely didn't make it more than a few miles from here last reported sighting.

My mind read it as June 22.

If she really went camping on her own in the desert, I agree. Then I hope there is successful recovery soon.
But is it possible she left the area with someone?
I'll try to make time to look online for any articles later.
I wonder if/how the desert was searched in January or February?

It sounds to me like either an argument or mental "break." There have been cases here where that happened to someone in the desert, unfortunately...

Lots of colorful characters in that area and lots of people passing through between Phoenix and southern Cal. Perhaps she hitched a ride out? Met up with the wrong person? Got lost and overcome by the elements?

So far I haven't been able to find any articles, announcments from LE, etc. in online MSM.

Bump? I just came across this case on websleuths, it seems extremely odd.

Her family has a vanlife website/fb page/blog and her mom is active on fb and instagram, but there's not a single public post by any family or friends about her being missing, and no social activity since the day before. wtf.

Her profile is still on NamUs as a missing person... Maybe her family just prefers their privacy (regarding her going missing).

Bumping up. She's still listed in NamUs and is mentioned here:

Supposedly the family was camping, but did she have any of her own equipment to be camping? The AZ desert in January is going to be quite cold at night.

I'm thinking that rather than camping on her own, she left and started a life somewhere else. How, without using her phone, I don't know. Burner phone she picked up at a gas station?

I feel like something transpired within the family that is not being released (and doesn't need to be) that caused Samantha to want to no longer "participate" with her family. I truly hope she did not trust the wrong person to help her get away from her situation.
