Found Deceased AZ - William Baumeister, 70, Vail, Pima County, 11 Dec 2018 *Parkinson’s*

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department is searching for a 70-year-old vulnerable man.

William J. Baumeister was last seen leaving the 14000 block of E. Troika St. towards Old Spanish Trail on a blue bicycle at about 7 a.m. on Tuesday, police say.

Police say he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s 10 years ago and takes medication for it 3 times a day.

He was wearing a dark Callaway long sleeve sweatshirt with shorts and a backpack.

Baumeister is described as a 70-year-old male, 6”1’, weighs 175 lbs., has brown eyes, and brown and gray hair.

According to a news release, his residence was searched and his wallet, ID, credit cards and medications were found. His phone is no longer in service. Police say the last “ping” placed it in the Vail area.

Vail, AZ is only about an hour drive to the Mexico border. It is just south of Tucson. I don't know if this is in the corridor for those crossing the border/cartels.

Deputy Dan Jelineo the Public Information Officer for the sheriff’s department told News 4 Tucson it didn’t appear the death was suspicious. It was more likely he became disoriented and couldn’t find his way out of the wash. He added Baumeister was found two miles from his home.
