Woodrow, 72, was last seen by three employees at a Clines Corner, New Mexico truck stop on Interstate-40 in the afternoon of May 9th, 1990.
He disappeared with his dark metallic green 1985 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup with a camper shell and CA license plate 2L87322, it is also still missing.

Woodrow lived in Needles, California, but he left his home to visit relatives, first stopping in Flagstaff, Arizona to see his son Ronald and his family, then planning to visit other relatives in Plainview, Texas. He was last seen by family when he left his son's home, traveling east down Santa Fe Avenue.

A family member in Needles, CA reported him missing two days later. In the following days, his son drove the route he would have taken and posted flyers.
This was when they were made aware of the sighting of him at the truck stop, he was easy for the witnesses to remember because of his dachshund companion and his hands which were crippled by arthritis.

He had with him about $800 cash and an income tax refund check, which would have been a clue if someone had tried to cash it, but no one did.

Woodrow's wife died a year before his disappearance, and he planned to move in with his son Ronald, whom he was very close to. They lived next to eachother in Needles until Ronald and his family moved to Flagstaff. He was known to have picked up hitchhikers in the past, and his family did not think he would do that again, but made note of the possibility.
