It may be that they just want to do a thorough investigation and make sure they talk with each of the boat owners/occupants who were moored or anchored next to BH and LH around the time of her disappearance.
BBM
That's exactly what I thought too. I had to go back and read that article a couple times.

It does say however, The U.S. Coast Guard is seeking the owner of a sailboat moored near Brian and Lynette Hooker's vessel, Soulmate, in Aunt Pat's Bay, Bahamas, around April 4, 2026, when Lynette vanished. Investigators believe the occupants of this nearby boat may have crucial information regarding her disappearance.

Interesting the Coast Guard released images of a specific sailboat, described as a mystery vessel anchored near the Hookers' 55-foot sailboat.

Hmmm.....

Not to distract, but 2 days ago two men disappeared while swimming off a boat in the Bahamas... below is the WS thread.

Now this does sadly sound like a rip tide current took them out to sea. 😒

Thread 'Bahamas - 2 men missing at sea, Highbourne Cay., 3 May 2026' Bahamas - 2 men missing at sea, Highbourne Cay., 3 May 2026

Yes, a member of the boating community visiting and staying in the Bahamas said in an interview with Brian Entin that a friend of his was moored or anchored next to the Hookers and that they didn't stand out for any reason, that there was nothing unusual about them, they fit in with the other members of the boating community. He is a certified Captain and he and his wife have a large sailboat anchored or moored in the Bahamas. The interview was posted upthread on one of Brian Entin's podcasts. But there may have been another sailboat moored or anchored to the Hookers' sailboat, not just this one. In any event, I would think that some of the other boaters might be able to help the Coast Guard identify the unknown owners of the sailboat pictured.

edited to add link

I wonder if they were directly beside them, or if they were anchored in the place further south. The area south of where they were anchored, I can see maybe 4 boats at night and only 2 where Soulmate was.

2 dots on the left are north Aunt Pat's Bay, the 4 other dots are where I think others are, but that is just a quick quess, it's easier to see at night with their light on and moving.

If you zoom in on the video when AB shows the night time view. You can see the boats slightly moving because of the wind and the video is sped up from real time. I have cued it to where it shows the night time video. If you put youtube on 2x speed, it's even easier to see them going back and forth.

Thanks! That means they're looking for someone who was at #9 from noon on April 4 until April 6.

your welcome!

Not sure if it was on the 6th too, but the night of the 4th for sure.

I know there is footage from the first day of SAR boats out searching, I wonder if that is how they got the picture.

He says about his friends who were anchored next to the Hookers: "they were literally right next to them" (sailboat Captain interviewed by Brian Entin).

Just a note that I think it is CBS that describes the sailboat as a "mystery sailboat" and not the Coast Guard who are looking to identify and interview the occupants of the boat, if I read the article correctly.

Good catch. I had to re-read that article a few times. I still didn't catch everything. I guess my take is: they are looking for "a" particular boat.

I got good bumps, the bad kind not the good kind when I read federal investigators, including the CGIS are looking for the owners of that sailboat that was moored near the Soulmate. because, in my own opinion, they are considered potential key witnesses in the disappearance of LH. 🫨🫨🫨🫨

I wonder a couple things about the CGIS boat pic.

From where was the image taken?

Was it from a security camera on Soulmate? Or from CCTV of another yacht in the bay, far away so it is grainy?

Or is it from some incidental picture that another boater took of that area and it happened to have soulmate in it so they submitted it to LE. But it also had this yacht in the image that LE cropped.

A single photo may explain why it's taken at dawn, I guess. It appears the sun is rising in the east where the camera is partly facing.

If the image had been from CCTV video then you'd think LE would have presented a more full day light image so the boat is easier to recognize.

Whatever the reason for LE's interest, this is MIGHTY important to them to break their sealed silence with this request.

Oh, to be a fly on the CGIS war room wall.

I wonder if it came from the photos that LE took that morning, when they first went back to Soulmate with Brian? Jim with SAR said LE took photos of the outside of Soulmate.

That's a great idea.

But wasn't that about 8:30am on April 5? This to me looks like a pre-sunrise picture in the 5:30-6:30am range. The blue and pink hues would no longer be bouncing off the clouds at 8:30.

Yes, Captain Bill, I remember the interview at the time and how his friends told him that the wind and sea conditions that evening were nowhere near as bad as BH claimed and that the water was so shallow where Lynette supposedly went overboard that she could have stood up in certain areas!
However, I have my doubts that they are the same people with the 'mystery sailboat' that USCG are looking for considering they were clearly well aware of the incident and talked about it immediately afterwards with Bill, so surely they would have either spoken to authorities already or would be easy to track down?
I would be concerned if they were the same people as it would mean authorities haven't done a very good job of interviewing potential witnesses.

Maybe they were nearby, but not 'literally neighbours' as Bill was led to believe.

Interesting.
Brian & Lynette's friends (former friends?) posted a video demonstrating what it's like paddling a small dinghy with a single paddle in winds ranging from 15-20 knots.
"Make of that what you will" he says 😅

His dinghy is twice the size of the teeny weeny itsy bitsy thing Lynette and Brian used, yet he was able to move it with paddling the way he wanted. But somehow Brian, big, muscular dude wasn't able to move his soapdish sized vessel towards Lynette or towards the very nearby shore? Please.

So, it was possible for that fairly short distance, but it wasn't fun according to the friend. He came back onto his sailing boat panting, so I assume it was strenuous. So how would it be to do that for 7 hours or however long it supposedly was?

CGIS is not asking for tips but a specific, unidentified sailboat. Perhaps they believe this person(s) can tell them what happened...or what didn't. They are not casting a wide net (no pun intended) of anyone in the waters in the area when LH supposedly disappeared. This is by LH and BH boat - Soulmate. Interesting. IMO

“CGIS is asking the public for info about the disappearance of Lynette Hooker w/in Aunt Pat’s Bay, BAH, 4/4. CGIS is looking for the owner of the sailboat below, moored near the SV Soulmate,” the social media post said.

What I got from the video demonstation was that, even taking into account the wind conditions which he said were blowing him away from LH, then 6ft 3 ex marine BH should have been more than capable of 'paddling' his dinghy either towards Lynette, towards shore or even towards their sailboat.
The '7 hour' paddle to Marsh Harbour also wouldn't make sense either as we are told that the wind would have been behind him for that journey, hence should have taken much less time and effort.

Considering he would have blown over to the boatyards in two or three hours without paddling at all, I think the bigger question is what was he actually doing all night?

Yes. Spot on. What was he actually doing during those hours. IMO
