I have been thinking about this one all day after I saw that ransom video... beyond disturbing. The organized crime aspect makes it even more fascinating yet frightening.

This article cites the ransom video as coming from X user MyLordBebo. I don’t see anything citing anything earlier than that post. Where would a random twitter user have gotten a ransom video meant for a Ukrainian crime family? Just a google search of that username shows a habit of posting pro-Russian, anti-Ukrainian, and far-right propaganda, with no commitment to truth:
Of course, the unverified video certainly looks real. And maybe there’s no significance to it, but it certainly seems odd that an anti-Ukraine rabble rouser on twitter exclusively breaks the hostage footage of the son of a Ukrainian gangster who was targeted and abducted by maybe 7 men, none of whom were local.

Indonesian police confirm that the body parts discovered belonged to Igor Komsrov, confirmed by DNA.

In addition, CBS reports that only one man, the driver, was arrested. He named six others who are believed to have fled the country. The police have placed “international red notices for their arrest.” This is in contrast to prior reports that those men had been arrested.

I hope the girlfriend who posted the photos stays safe (from all sides involved in this case).
