Around 11 a.m. on Aug. 4, 1967, the victim’s body was discovered in a wooded area off of 77th Street behind the Barry Blower Manufacturing Company in Fridley. Boyles died of homicidal violence.

Details from the Sat, Aug 05, 1967, Willmar (MN) West Central Tribune:

She was found nude in a wooded lovers' lane area after an anonymous phone call to police.

She had been stabbed three times in the abdomen and her throat had been cut.

She was last seen on Thursday at noon near her home, when she was going to visit a female friend who lived 5 or 6 blocks away, and her body was found around noon on Friday several miles away. Her parents reported her missing Thursday night.

She was identified by the initial on her class ring.

The day after, police were interviewing a number of suspects.

Weirdly, I can find absolutely no mention of her in newspapers since the day after her body was found.

On 08/04/67 the body of a young girl, Barbara Boyles, was discovered in a wooded area northeast behind the Barry Blower Mfg. Company. Barbara was last seen by her family when she was walking to a friend’s house the previous day.
