Nanaimo man gets four years for pushing girlfriend off a cliff

Kyle Ordway pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the death of 27-year-old Amy Watts, whose body was found in a ravine below a cliff in 2021

Can Canadian posters here comment if he will even have to spent all of four years in prison? Incredible sentence. RIP Amy.

I'm Canadian and well he's already spent two years in custody so that was deducted and then he'll probably be up for early parole based on good behaviour or something stupid like that

so at the MOST, he will do 2 years but probably less IMO

and this is him not taking any responsibility in his plea hearing:

Ordway addressed Coady and Watts’s father in the courtroom in August, apologizing for their daughter’s death.

“I’m truly sorry this horrific freak accident happened that should have never happened and I’m truly sorry for Amy being gone this early in life,” he said.
