Bear leaves hotel and goes shopping

A bear cub somehow turned up at an hotel in Ashland, Oregon, jumped out of a window there, and then popped into Rite Aid across the street.

He took a stroll around, but by that time the Dept of Fisheries and Wildlife had arrived to spoil his day in town. There was no sign of the cub's mom, and he'll have to go into a zoo or refuge now, because of his contact with humans.

Update: He's a she! And born this year so officials think she may be young enough to go back into the wild. There's a lovely photo at the link of her sprawled out on the table with an oxgyen mask on. She's in good hands.
