Teddy Bear Company Spawns Controversy Again


MONTPELIER, Vt. -- The Vermont Teddy Bear Co. has a new fuzzy addition just in time for Mother's Day, but some find the latest stuffed animal unbearable -- claiming it's offensive to women.


The Bearfoot and Pregnant teddy bear is the company's latest creation.



The comapany said it "was intended to be a lighthearted celebration of pregnancy."



But the bear's name is disturbing some women's rights advocacy groups and is spurring negative feedback on several consumer Web site .
In fact, the latter is going on the Internet for four times the original price, lending credence to the theory that in marketing, any publicity is good publicity.​
