Facial reconstructions in 2D and 3D were made of the young woman, showing what she might have looked like during her lifetime. She is believed to be between 14 and 24 years old and 1.62 meters tall. Bumping for this poor lady; I struggle to comprehend how difficult it is to trace this one, and I've spent many many hours over the years on it.

It's interesting that it turns out the artificial nails, with the flowers, are on the ring finger. A different source said pinky fingers, but I consider it confirmed that it were the ring fingers, now Interpol brought this case up again. Not that I found anything about it, but could only decorating your ring fingers have a special meaning?

That's interesting. Is it 100% certain that it was the ring finger (presumably on the left hand)?

This is in the Interpol file: On both ring fingers the artificial nails were decorated with a floral pattern. If Interpol isn't certain, which I doubt, who can be, beside the killer(s)?

Great, thanks for that, I missed it.

The link of the Belgian Police in the first post no longer works.

The new link is:
Onbekend meisje

The location is mentioned as "Wezet".
The Dutch police calls this place "Visé".

It's the same place.

The Belgian links no longer work. I wonder if she has been identified?

However this Interpol link is still up, so maybe not.

I hope she will be identified. How very tragic this happened to her.

There is at least one very dangerous murderer at large, and she deserves justice.

Looks like the Belgian police has a new link. https://www.politie.be/opsporingen/...ichamen-of-lichaamsdelen/onbekende-vrouw-vise

So unfortunately doesn’t seem she was identified. I hope she will soon!

Belgian lE change websites every now and then. Some years ago, I found a call for witnesses in the case of a missing woman on a website that apparently was all official. When I dug further, i discovered another official website indicating that the brother in law had been convicted of her murder. Fortunately, nowadays they delete the old pages.

I feel like the facial features of 14yo Anita Richter, missing 300 miles away in Hamburg ten years before this woman's body was found, are a very strong match. Particularly the jaw and cheek structure, the nose, the peculiar ear shape (the lobe), the eye shape, mouth shape, and the measurements between the key parts of the face.

I ran the drawing and the known photo of AR through an AI facial feature classifier and it gave a 70% match without compensating for age.

I've sent this to the Netherlands police but if anybody has a way of contacting someone relevant in Germany please let me know.
Did you submit Anita as a potential match ? They do really lookalike imo

No, that is solely fashion. I had stick on nails for my wedding that had a silver decoration on the ring finger but none on the others. Just a style, zero meaning.

Unlikely. Yes Anita could have been trafficked or groomed and lived under the radar for 10 years in Belgium but it is a very long shot. I am no fan of isotope analytics at all but in the case of our UID I believe it being correct that she grew up in Eastern Europe, Poland Ukraine or Hungary. Many women from those places coming to Belgium and Germany as workers in factories or in the hospitality industry or sometimes as sexworkers. If they disappear not many people notice, sadly.

While I totally agree with you I think submitting a potential match can never hurt the case, worst that can happen is that it’s not Anita
Also unlikely doesn’t mean impossible 😉
