Well my eyes are starting to go to sleep….. but I am wondering if this vehicle might be a circa 1990 or 1992 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera?IMO the body of the car shown in the article linked above is too rounded to be the model Skylark you're showing. I'll have to investigate to see what it could be.

I read that they did that in the Kiely Rodni case in Lake Prosser, CA.
Adventures with Purpose said they always remove the license plate so they can ID the car.
It also aids privacy when they do pull the vehicle out.
