Dad, 25, 'shot baby son dead after wife refused to have sex with him'
Maycon Salustiano Silva was allegedly high on a cocktail of drink and drugs when he shot his son at their home in Luziânia, Brazil.
The baby, Michel, was pronounced dead in hospital two hours after the shooting.
A 22. gauge pistol was found down the back of the sofa in the family's living room, but Maycon has told police he doesn't remember anything about what happened.
Detective Daniel Martins Ferreira, from the local police, said: "We believe the suspect, in a moment of rage when he didn't get what he wanted, shot the child at point blank range by resting the gun on the baby's chest as he lay in the cot in his parent's bedroom.
"The mother reported that her husband woke her up and wanted to have sex with her.
He reportedly asked his wife "if she believed he had the courage to shoot their child" before pulling the trigger.
The pair had been together for four years and were described on social media by friends as a "beautiful couple".
Silva — who has no criminal record — was arrested and charged with manslaughter, domestic violence and illegal possession of a weapon.
