This is a small fragment of skull (designated "Undetermined Doe #03-01") found during a search warrant in a suspect's backpack. DNA confirmed that the bone was from a female.

Literally. I was trying to find articles about a homicide at this time/place but couldn't find anything. I don't know how they expect anyone to come forward and say this might be their missing relative when they release absolutely no info or context.

I wonder if this is the remains of Brenda Richardson, who was decapitated.
The guy who killed her was caught in March 2001. So this skull fragment might have been found during that investigation.
Not specifically Adelanto but in San Bernardino County.
