I think this is an overweight teenager who can conceal her pregnancies, but someone is helping with the birth.maybe.

I wish that someone would broadcast the "Safe Haven" law on billboards in every city...when you are entering the city. A great big sign that gives all of the details. I just don't think enough people know about it. I saw on the news that every state but one has the law. I wouldn't have known a thing about it if I didn't come here. I didn't even know that Washington state had it. The state that doesn't have it is right smack in the middle of the map...probably Vermont! They don't seem to care about much there...sex offenders, etc.
I wonder what could be done about getting this law well known? It looks like this mother wanted her babies to be found. She could have placed them in more obvious places where they would be easier to be found but at least she didn't throw them into dumpsters in plastic bags. I will give her that.
I think I am going to email our governor and see what can be done about it.
An Orosi woman received the maximum sentence, for killing one of three babies she abandoned.
Nancy Ortiz will spend the next 22 years in prison before she's eligible for parole... She did not address the court at all about her conviction.
Nancy Ortiz abandoned three newborn babies between January 2005 and December 2006. The first two babies survived the third, nicknamed Angelita De Orosi by investigators, died in the cold weather.
