Authorities are searching for a man with ties to European royalty who disappeared in Malibu early Saturday morning.

Attilio Brillembourg, 53, was last seen at 1:10 a.m. in the 6000 block of Murphy Way, a neighborhood of luxury homes and estates near Escondido Falls, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

“There is concern for Mr. Brillembourg’s well-being,” the department said in its missing person report.

Brillembourg, who lives in New York, is 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs 165 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue shirt and gray pants and no shoes, authorities said.

Odd he was not wearing shoes, and walking after 1 am.

Princess Tatiana of Greece looked back on a "difficult year" amid her divorce from Prince Nikolaos and after her relative, Attilio Brillembourg, was reported missing.

...Attilio is the stepbrother of Princess Tatiana, as his father (also named Attilio) married Tatiana's mother, Marie-Blanche Brillembourg, The Times reported. Tatiana’s father, Ladislav Vladimir Blatnik, died when she was a girl, the outlet said.

A missing persons report from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said that that Attilio was last seen on May 18 at 1:10 a.m. on the 6000 block of Murphy Way in the Malibu area.

"There is concern for Mr. Brillembourg's wellbeing," the release said.

Anyone with information was urged to contact the Sheriff's Homicide Bureau, Missing Persons Detail.

What are people's theories on this one? He's wealthy and well-connected - family is silent and so is law enforcement. So clearly his family and law enforcement know what happened to him. I just wonder what it is. I searched online in all the usual places and nothing. Does anyone know? Msg me if you won't want to say it on the board.

This one is still so weird to me. Given his prominence/connections + silence - it's clear that everyone in his circle as well as law enforcement is fully aware of what happened to him.
