The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office needs the public’s help to locate a Kentucky man reported missing from the Trinidad area.

Basil Tolson, 32, of Hazel Green, Kentucky, was reported missing to the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office on July 25, 2018. Tolson last contacted a family member on June 2, telling them that he was working on a cannabis farm in the Trinidad area. Tolson may have possibly last been in the Freshwater Lagoon area.

Tolson is described as a white male adult, approximately 6 feet tall, 180 pounds, with hazel eyes and brown hair.

Anyone with information about Tolson’s whereabouts is encouraged to contact the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office at (707) 445-7251 or the Sheriff’s Office Crime Tip line at (707) 268-2539.

His mother is a personal friend of my mother and has no idea what has happened to him. He went to CA to see his daughter. He gets a disability check and his mom said they are waiting for cctv footage and bank statements to see if and when his money is being used from his acct. He went out there without making any arrangements for a place to stay but he did continue to post on FB regularly and call his family periodicly. It seems he has disappeared without a clue for way too long. even for him, this is not normal behavior.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

He left no other digital footprints? Why would it take so long for Humboldt County Sheriff‘s Office to obtain this information/cctv footage?

No, he has vanished. no digital footprints that we know of at all.

Last his mother told me, they discovered 2 men using his debit card that he gets a disability check on it she thought they were planning to find these guys. Is he close to the area known as Murder Mountain?

It's a little over 100 miles southeast from Trinidad to Alderpoint. The cannabis industry in that area is full of shady characters because of how much money is invovled.
