Carlos Holguin was last seen about 2 p.m. Wednesday as he left his home in the 11600 block of Toerge Drive in La Mirada. His car was last spotted Thursday in Torrance and Compton. He suffers from dementia.

Holguin is Latino, 5 feet 6 inches tall, 160 pounds. He’s balding with gray hair, has brown eyes and wears glasses.

His car is a white, 1999 Mercury Marquis with California license plate 4FHL092.

Awesome news!

I really question someone that age being allowed to drive with dementia. It is not only dangerous for them, but possibly for others as well. My sibling has it and is much younger than most people with dementia, but I told her kids she could not drive anymore- she was making awful mistakes, such as driving down a one way street the wrong way, cutting off people on a four lane route and many other mistakes while I was in the car with her. She also couldn't remember how to get to places that we went to frequently- easy directions, mind you. I shudder every time I read someone with dementia is missing- it is so easy for them to get lost, and many of them don't pull over until they are very far away from their intended destination before they realize they are lost.
