Also in one of the articles when asked about their marriage, the husband complained she did not want to sleep with him anymore.
Which article is it specifically? Seems like he...had a lot to say to the paper.

Beheading is not kosher slaughter, actually ;)
It being a hate crime, maybe, but the beheading just screams "perp does not want to be caught" to me, along with the removal of hands. No dentals, no fingerprints, identification is considerably hindered. Because if she was identified, the husband would immediately be suspect. And the plan worked out well for 13 years until DNA helped
Ok, so you mentioned removal of hands, but the killer only actually removed her thumbs.which got me thinking whoever killed her had to have known she was a California native, as only California, Colorado, Texas and Georgia require thumb prints when providing a drivers license application. The killers would have also had to know her well enough to know that she did not have a criminal record and therefore her other prints wouldn’t be on file with law enforcement so he did not remove them. All more evidence pointing to the husband. Seems he was granted a legal separation in 2008 after filing for divorce. He was getting closer to retirement and didn’t want the financial burden of the divorce so he killed her in 2011 and then wrote about his money woes to the paper.

I wonder how much contact they had post-separation. And I wonder who filed...The case wasn't coming up in Unicourt for me.

He was the one who filed for everything.
